25th Anniversary Of Sunkid Marked With A Special Event

With its magic carpet, the Sunkid company from Imst in the Tyrolean Oberland has developed into the world market leader for conveyor belts in the tourism sector. Both celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2021. On this occasion, Sunkid invited children with disabilities to a ski course with Marlies Raich in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis.
The most prominent "ski instructor" at the anniversary weekend was none other than Marlies Raich. In cooperation with the partners RollOn Austria, the Skidimension Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, Rolltechnik Praschberger, the Skischule Fiss-Ladis and the Hotel Chesa Monte Fiss, ten children with disabilities were invited into the world from Friday, March 25th to Sunday, March 27th of skiing.
We move. you smile
"For 25 years we have been on the move to put a smile on the faces of our partners and their guests," explained Sunkid Managing Director Emanuel Wohlfarter. “As a global group of companies, we offer a wide range of products for tourism regions, amusement parks and adventure worlds. Today, our innovative solutions for the transport of people and goods move millions of people all over the world.” One of Sunkid's most successful products is the magic carpet, which has also been making carefree skiing fun, especially for children, possible for 25 years. In ski areas but also in more urban areas, since the flexible structure is suitable for almost every "hill". To celebrate both 25 year anniversaries, During the pandemic and the current developments, the successful company decided not to have a big party and instead wanted to make children smile with a very special kind of ski course. The star of the event was Marlies Raich. “I am a mother of three myself and I know how important it is to give our children a perspective in life and in this world. It is a matter close to my heart to be able to contribute to bringing joy to these special children in particular and to encouraging them to be able to master even extraordinary challenges.”
Special weekend
“Skiing is a popular sport and must remain so. No one should be left out,” explained Sunkids Marketing and Event Manager Christopher Kössler. "That's why we decided to spend an unforgettable ski weekend with disabled children. Together with our great partners, we have managed to put together a really special program for the children.” Co-inventor and at the same time one of the first customers of the magic carpet was Benny Pregenzer, Managing Director of Fisser Bergbahnen GmbH.
He was also involved in brainstorming ideas for the ski weekend and supported the extraordinary project from the outset in terms of organization and catering. “The idea for the event came about during a witty conversation about old times – we have been working together with Sunkid for a long time. We made contact with the RollOn association and Marianne Hengl, and that's how the project got going," he said. "Now we are very happy about this great weekend and that we were able to give the children an extraordinary joy."
Living with a disability: "Trust us to do something"
Co-organizer Marianne Hengl, chairwoman of RollOn Austria, disability activist, author, radio and television presenter, it is a matter of the heart for her public relations work to give people with disabilities a face in society. "I am particularly pleased that Sunkid approached me with this project. On this ski weekend, some disabled children will be on skis for the first time, the anticipation is huge and the excitement for this big day can hardly be endured. A disabled life does not always mean that it is doomed to fail from the start. As important as it is to muster the strength to accept these challenges - maybe even see them as opportunities - it is just as important that there are people that strengthen and motivate you. With this sustainable and pleasant campaign, Sunkid shows its special appreciation for people with disabilities. This great gift from Sunkid will also please the parents who will accompany their children on this special weekend. For them, this action is an encouraging sign that they and their "special children" are not overlooked by society. So under the motto: "Trust us something." that they and their "special children" are not overlooked by society. So under the motto: "Trust us something." that they and their "special children" are not overlooked by society. So under the motto: "Trust us something."
Great supporting program
After checking in at the Hotel Chesa Monte and the first turns on skis together with trained ski instructors from the Fiss-Ladis ski school on Friday, the most important part of the program started on Saturday. Marlies Raich spent the day on the slopes with the children. She showed them a trick or two on how to make particularly good turns with skis. After skiing on Saturday, all participants met at the Sonnenburg Fiss-Ladis to start the supporting program, which was moderated by the Tyrolean cult band Bluatschink. Of course supplemented by one or the other of their successful songs. Finally, Marianne Hengl presented her new book "Stehaufmenschen" on stage.
