Andermatt Recieves Swisstainable Award From Switzerland Tourism

Sustainability is a priority for Andermatt Swiss Alps; As part of the Andermatt Responsible campaign, the group implements numerous projects in the areas of climate and environmental protection, society and the economy. In doing so, it makes its contribution to the sustainable development of the region and an ecological travel experience in Switzerland. This has now been confirmed by the Swisstainable label with awards at the two highest levels.

Switzerland Tourism's Swisstainable sustainability program provides orientation for holidaymakers in Switzerland. Based on a criteria grid, tourism offers are inventoried and awarded a three-level signet. Level III companies have a comprehensive, recognized proof of sustainability that covers all dimensions of sustainability and is regularly checked externally. Level II companies are committed to sustainable corporate management and continuous development in terms of sustainability. They also have recognized evidence in at least one sustainability dimension. The Andermatt Swiss Alps Group achieved Level II, engaged, the Andermatt Swiss Alps Golf Course even Level III, leading.
Sustainability at Andermatt Swiss Alps
The Andermatt Swiss Alps Group has anchored the topic of sustainability in its corporate strategy and is promoting this in all business units with a variety of initiatives. The buildings of Andermatt Swiss Alps, for example, are built according to the low-energy standard, the electricity comes from water and wind power from the Gotthard region and heating is predominantly climate-neutral with district heating from wood chips from the area. The lifts and snowmaking systems of the mountain railways in Andermatt and Sedrun are also operated 100 percent with renewable energy. Most of the water for snowmaking is obtained from the streams and lakes naturally present on the mountain - and flows there again after the winter season. The Andermatt Swiss Alps Golf Course has already received several awards. It is ecologically designed, is operated in an environmentally friendly manner and offers space for flora and fauna. For this he received the globally recognized GEO certification.
Pioneering role in the OK: GO initiative
