Substantial Investment At Catamount Mountain Resort
Two new lifts will greet Catamount Mountain Resort guests for winter 2021/22, including a lower mountain quad chair replacing the Catamount double and a new summit triple to replace the Glade double chair. Extensive upgrades to Catamount’s snowmaking system are also underway, with more pumping capacity, water storage, pipe replacement and additional snowguns on several mountain areas. A new snowtubing park is also planned, featuring a new magic carpet lift and lights for night tubing. In the base area, food and beverage operations have been re-imagined with an innovative new line-up of culinary venues set to welcome hungry skiers. New grooming equipment, additional ski and snowboard rentals, a seasonal locker room and technology upgrades round out a busy summer of enhancements designed to elevate the overall resort experience.
The new triple and quad chairlifts will increase uphill capacity substantially, translating into more runs and more time on the mountain for Catamount’s valued guests. “A big part of our vision for Catamount is to enhance the uphill capacity at the mountain, thereby reducing lines and giving our guests more of what they have come to expect from us – the best skiing and snowboarding experience in the region,” stated Jon Schaefer of the ownership group. The new lifts will substantially ease the burden on the existing Ridge Quad, which has been the primary workhorse lift to the summit. Additionally, the new summit triple is designed to be upgradable to a quad chair in the future.
When skiers and riders venture into the lodges this winter, they’ll be greeted with a line-up of new culinary venues, each with their own new menu, and theme. In the recently-opened Catamount lodge, Campfire will debut with a state-of-the-art kitchen, featuring a menu of BBQ favorites that can be ordered ahead online or in person. In the Berkshire lodge, a new specialty coffee outlet called Jacked Up will serve up frothy favorites, while Fat Cats will open as a festive Mexican-themed cantina serving up tacos, tequila and other themed menu items. Stateline, a re-imagined café, will serve up ski area favorites like burgers, chicken fingers, soups and other hearty meals that skiers and riders expect. And finally, Schaefer Supply will offer grab-and-go convenience for quick bites and beverages.
