Fischer Sports Bags Multiple Awards For 2021/22 Alpine Ski And Boot Lineup
Fischer Sports announces another year of winning Alpine product lineups in both ski and boot categories for both resort and backcountry categories. As fall gear guides hit newsstands, the accolades have rolled in, with top marks in SKI Magazine, Freeskier, Backcountry Magazine and Outside Magazine, among other publications.
Notable wins include SKI Magazine Best in Test for the Women’s All-mountain category with the Ranger 94 FR WS and for the Women’s Deep Powder Snow category with the Ranger 115 FR. Other official selections include the Ranger 102 FR, the Fischer RC One 86 GT and the Ranger 99 Ti.
SKI Magazine tester Matt Schiller noted of the versatile all-mountain capabilities of the Fischer Ranger 102 FR, “This ski successfully defines the razor line of power and play! Calm demeanor and predictable response for run outs, airs, and speed … inspiring. Throw a quick direction change in the air, then stand on and power drive your exits.”
Another SKI Magazine tester, Courtney Harkins, sang praises for the groomer ripping prowess of the Fischer RC One 86 GT, saying, “These babies rip. They look for hard and fast snow and turn on a dime. Tons of fun and would be a killer daily driver for an ex-racer or someone who just likes to crush groomers. Nimble enough to get through crud, but they want hardpack.”
In Freeskier Magazine, the Fischer ski lineup tallied Editor’s Picks in both freeride and backcountry categories for the Ranger 94 FR WS, Ranger 102 FR and 102 FR WS, Ranger 115 FR and the Hannibal 96.
“The Ranger ski line has always been ahead of its time,” notes Jonathan Jay, Fischer Sports US’s new content marketing manager. “Every year, the magazines and their esteemed testers sing higher and higher praise for these skis’ unique ability to cater to every type of skier style from coast to coast. The latest list of awards are a testament to the company’s strong workmanship and clever engineering to make skis that everyone can enjoy. The expertly milled wood cores, perfect amount of metal and carbon, and bomber construction mean every Ranger ski is built to last and provide great performance day-in and day-out.”
The awards for 2022 were not limited to the Fischer ski lineup, with standout boots catching editors’ eyes as well. Backcountry Magazine bestowed the newly released Transalp Pro touring boot with an Editors’ Choice Award for its comfortable quiver-of-one status, with one tester claiming, “The Transalp Pro ushers in a new category of touring boot [by] fusing together impressive snow feel with great weight and a sweet range of motion in tour mode.”
Jay explains of the Transalp, “The new Transalp backcountry ski boot line has proven to be one of most innovative ski boot releases of the past five years. The pinnacle of the line, the Transalp Pro, is sustainably built with renewable castor oil and, as a number of this season’s Gear Guides point out, proves that skiers who demand high performance for big backcountry ascents and even bigger descents really can have it all with only one backcountry-specific ski boot.”
Once again, the host of accolades awarded the Fischer Alpine lineup represent Fischer’s industry leading design and quality that the Austrian ski manufacturer pursues each year.
“From the race gates to the backcountry and everywhere in between, Fischer’s future includes crafting the next generation of skis and boots that help all skiers maximize their days on snow even more,” says Jay. “The company just put a huge amount of investment in their European factory, which promises to deliver more incredible products and a new level of sustainable manufacturing. The future of Fischer is very bright.”
