The book has meant more than three years of work by a large team led by Montse Bofill. It is a compilation of more than 110 years of history of snow sports, carried out by a team of historians, journalists, and sports men and women who are passionate about winter sports. The president of the Royal Spanish Winter Sports Federation (RFEDI - SpainSnow), May Peus España, decided to carry out this challenge after detecting that there was not a compilations book at a national level and also to provide an outlet for a large part of the historical archives at the RFEDI headquarters.

May Peus España defined the book as follows: ,,It’s a recognition and enhancement for all those from more than a century ago until today, that have put their snowflake for the improvement and evolution of snow sports.”

David Escudé, sports councilor of the Barcelona City Council and president of the Fundació Barcelona Olímpica, explained: “The book is a way of approaching winter sports in order to build an agreement that could allow the Olympic Games project in the Pyrenees; from which Barcelona, the city where the idea comes from, cannot be left out and cannot be left aside. There is still a lot of work to be done and we are ready to work on it.”

"Historia de los Deportes de Nieve en España.'', is a book with very clear objectives; to make the history of Spanish Snow Sports known since its birth and to promote the practice of winter sports in the future. The book can be bought here:
