Two New Chairs For Sundance
Sundance Mountain Resort is pleased to announce resort improvements that will begin this spring for the 2021-2022 winter season, including two new lifts, upgraded and enhanced snowmaking, additional parking, and Creekside building renovations.
These improvements come with considerable thought and desire to preserve existing land and traditions while providing an enhanced experience to each guest. The expansion will include the retirement of Rays lift with renewed access to the Mandan Summit from the base via a Doppelmayr high-speed quad. This lift will provide a 7-minute ride to the Summit, including breathtaking views and lift access to intermediate and advanced terrain.
The lift will also include a mid-station unload for novice skiers. An additional fixed-grip quad will provide access to the backside of the Mandan Summit, primarily to be used for summer activities.
“I have wonderful memories of skiing the beautiful terrain of Mandan Summit on the old chairlift until 1995. We are thrilled for the addition of a new, high-speed quad that will restore access to these amazing runs and views. We are excited for what these improvements mean for the future of Sundance Mountain Resort.” said President and General Manager, Chad Linebaugh
Additional parking will be added with a target of 125 – 150 new parking spaces to help accommodate peak demand days. Upgraded and enhanced snowmaking will be added, including a snowmaking reservoir.
These improvements will allow for additional snow guns and the ability to open more terrain early in the season. The Creekside building renovation is being undertaken this summer to enhance guest amenities and create additional gathering places for friends and family.
Sundance Mountain Resort was purchased in December 2020. The new ownership group is committed to the vision and legacy of Robert Redford and the sustainability of Sundance Mountain Resort.
