Smith Launches New Athletic & Watersports Glasses

Smith has lauched a series of new athletic and watersports glasses,

Pushing athletic endeavors into overdrive, the new Shift MAG offers cyclists and runners every performance advantage possible when it comes to speed.

The new 5-base shield unisex sunglass features a slight wrap fit for complete coverage and includes Smith’s notable ChromaPop™ and MAG technologies. The superlight and slim frame - complete with vented brow bar to promote airflow and minimize fogging - features MAG interchangeable technology; a magnet-based innovation that enables fast lens swapping with a simple click. The MAG system is built directly into the frame for fingerprint-free lens changes.

The Shift MAG is offered in three ChromaPop non-polarized performance lens options that reveal natural color, enhanced visual clarity and greater definition of objects - and all include a secondary Clear lens for riding or running in low light or rain.

A Photochromic Clear to Grey option that darkens with sun exposure is also available for addressing varied light conditions within one lens. Additional features include a multi-adjustable nosepiece to allow for added airflow by positioning the frame closer or further from the face, while also offering a customizable fit. The nosepiece and temples are comprised of megol which reacts to perspiration by gently adhering to the skin for a comfortable, no slip fit at any speed.

The thin megol temples also offer ultimate helmet compatibility by securely storing within the open venting channels when taken off the face. The new Shift MAG (MSRP $259, including two lenses and a hard case).

Providing style from surf to shore, the new Riptide is a classic shape with a modest 6-base wraparound fit and packed with Smith’s best-selling eyewear features and technologies.

 The Italian made frame is comprised of lightweight and durable Evolve™ bio-based frame material and provides a medium to large fit for broad coverage. The temples are fitted with spring hinges that self-adjust for a snug, comfortable fit. The addition of megol nose and temple pads provides a non-slip grip when reacting to moisture and perspiration for added security.

Offered exclusively with ChromaPop™ lens technology and RX compatible, the Riptide is available in highly scratch-resistant ChromaPop Glass polarized lenses or super durable ChromaPop+™ polarized lenses, both designed to cut glare while enhancing contrast, definition, natural color and unmatched clarity to see more detail. Providing 100% UV protection, each lens option features a smudge and moisture resistant coating for easy cleaning and clear optics, plus an anti-reflective coating to improve clarity and reduces eye strain.

Water ready, the new Deckboss sunglass with large fit and 8-base wrap design, provides anglers, boaters and aquatic adventure seekers ample coverage for long days off land. 

Comprised of lightweight and durable Evolve™ bio-based frame material, the Deckboss has large temples to reduce sidelight exposure and also feature adjustable QuickFit temples that easily bend and mold for a customized and personal fit. The temples are also pre-drilled at the tips for leash integration for added security.

The Deckboss is offered exclusively with ChromaPop™ polarized lenses – in 6 tints – that cut glare and provide enhanced color and contrast on the water.
