Laax ready To Open World's Longest Tree Top Walk
A real highlight awaits the guests from July 11th in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland: The 1.5 km longest treetop path in the world, which connects the districts of Laax-Murschetg and Laax-Dorf.In addition to the slide trails, the treetop paths are also becoming increasingly popular with nature-loving tourists.
The facility, which is accessible all year round, can be reached via spiral stairs, but also very comfortably via elevators. Two towers were built for this in Murschetg and Dimplaun.
- The over 30 m high tower in Murschetg offers visitors another special attraction:
- From a height of 28.50 m, brave people of all ages with a height of 1.30 m and over can zoom down to the ground through the 73 m long stainless steel tubular spiral slide that winds around the tower.
- It gets really interesting inside the slide: The partly transparent polycarbonate cover allows the slide guests a brief view of the surroundings from time to time, while light effects push the slide in the all-tube sections. Those who do not dare to take the slide can now and then take a look at the sliding visitors from the four platforms.
GTSM Magglingen AG, Wiegand Slide's sales partner, received the order for this slide. The system was produced by Wiegand in Rasdorf, and assembly was carried out by the company's fitters.
Two crane vehicles with specially long jibs were used to lift the chute parts to the appropriate heights.
The system is now fully assembled and the treetop path is ready to start.
In the past few years Wiegand has already carried out similar projects, such as B. in St. Englmar in the Bavarian Forest. Last year, the Waldwipfelweg was extended by a 23.5 m walkable tower, which starts at a height of 30 m and is equipped with various climbing devices and two Wiegand slides inside.
