Bernard Font Elected President Of Courchevel Meribel 2023
On the occasion of the appointment of the first board of directors of Courchevel Méribel 2023, which took place on Wednesday July 7th, Bernard Front was unanimously elected as president of the association Courchevel Méribel 2023.
Originally from Méribel and very involved in the life of his resort, he is one of the socio- professionals involved in the project, an excellent skier (5 times winner of the French national instructors' challenge). He is above all extremely proud to be able to get more involved in the project.
Already widely present in the Organizing committee as a representative of the Town Hall of the Allues, Bernard Front already has a good knowledge of the files and demonstrates an unfailing motivation :
“First of all, I would like to thank Michel Vion, at the origin of the French candidacy, who knew how to lead Courchevel-Méribel 2023 to victory with the International Ski Federation. He also masterfully piloted the difficult issue of the school vacation calendar with the government, which allowed the reversal of the Paris holiday zone with those of our region, thus facilitating the work of the Organizing Committee. Finally, I congratulate him on his appointment to the post of Secretary General of the FIS, which he will know how to fulfill with talent. As for me, I am very honored to have been chosen to be president of the association. I am honored to participate in this adventure and to be able to carry high along with the Federation Française de Ski, the colors of our two resorts ”.
A simplified organization
In response to the needs of the organization, the statutes of the Courchevel Méribel 2023 association have been updated to adapt to the operational phase and allow strong responsiveness, a faster and also more flexible decision-making process.
Creation of a Board of Directors
A Board of Directors has been created and will now concentrate decision-making powers.
It is made up of 18 members: the president of the French Ski Federation as well as 2 representatives of this institution, the mayor as well as two citizens for each of the municipalities, the president of the Savoie ski committee, the presidents of the Courchevel and Méribel sport clubs. Also are members the Minister of Sports, the Prefect of Savoie, the President of the FIS, the company holding the rights, the president of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes regional council and the president of the Departmental Council of Savoie.
Thus the association has welcomed new members and allowed them to expand with the arrival of ski lift companies, hotel unions and ski schools.
