FIS Chief Race Director Markus Waldner Tests Positive For Covid-19
FIS chief Race Director Markus Waldner tested positive for Covid-19 directly following the slalom race in Flachau. Immediately upon receiving the result, Waldner went into self-isolation.
All individuals in close contact with Waldner, including the FIS support staff, have subsequently been re-tested for Covid-19 and the results were negative. Therefore, Assistant Race Directors Emmanuel Couder and Hannes Trinkl will take over the responsibilities of Waldner for the upcoming weekend races in Kitzbühel (AUT).
The news comes after a cancellaion of the Wengen Lauberhorn races with a rescheduling of the Kitzbuehel slaoloms, which were moved to Flachau.
