Gordini Releases Its Most Sustainable Product Line For Fall 2021
Entering its 65th Anniversary, Gordini introduces its most sustainable product line in the brand’s history for its Fall 2021 collection.
The brand’s new Front Line series was developed in collaboration with Gordini’s team athlete and splitboarder Rafael Pease and is constructed with 100 percent bluesign-approved materials, while the Gordini Cirque series, made with responsibly-sourced leather, was designed with the help of Gordini team athlete and freeskier Julian Carr.
Built using lightweight materials with heavy-duty credentials, the Gordini Front Line series was designed and tested for rugged backcountry conditions with each piece serving an essential purpose. The Front Line GTX and the Front Line LT gloves and mitts can be worn separately or as a system, both featuring a minimal seam design to reduce areas of wear and tear, PrimaLoft Gold insulation, moisture-wicking linings and Schoeller Keprotec on the palm and wrap caps using Kevlar fibers for durability and grip.
“We are lucky to have great creative partners in our team athletes, and we all share the same values around quality and sustainability,” said Hanna Reichel, Gordini strategy coordinator. “We believe we are providing the first glove offering to the market in which every element, from the shell to the hardware, is bluesign approved. We had a great time working on these projects with Rafa and Julian, realizing our shared desire to deliver meaningful equipment that maximizes longevity while minimizing environmental impact.”
Gordini’s new Cirque series features bluesign-approved linings and insulation, and genuine goatskin shell and accents that are responsibly-sourced from a Leather Working Group certified partner. Available in glove and 3-finger styles, the Cirque series delivers a race-ready silhouette in supple leather with moisture-wicking comfort and PrimaLoft Gold warmth.
Gordini continues to use its Clutch Synthetic Leather for Fall ’21, featuring the high-performance, animal-free alternative in its new Ember gloves for men and women and its revamped Mtn Crew glove and mitt for men. Because Clutch is animal-free, the manufacturing process is more reliable and resource-efficient than traditional tanning, estimated to use as much as 60 percent less water than leather manufacturing.
