Valais Mountain Card Launches With Pricenow

The big snow has arrived, the winter season has opened and the Valais mountain railways are welcoming the first ski guests with the new, innovative Valais Mountain Card.
This has never been done before: Discover the Valais mountains in an uncomplicated way with just one card, without queuing on site and always at the best rate.
Discover the diverse experiences of Valais with just one card
With the Valais Mountain Card, the Valais, with its almost infinite number of options, is open to guests. 45 mountain railways and ski areas can be visited with a single card. Even those who don't want to go on the slopes can use the card for unforgettable experiences. With three thermal baths and, in the future, even more leisure activities, there is something for everyone to discover.
The Valais Mountain Card enables direct access to the ski slopes or relaxing in the thermal baths. The guests do not need to buy a ticket at the cash register, in the web shop or at a machine - which is also advantageous for guests in view of Covid.
An inexpensive and customer-centered offer
On the valaismountaincard.ch webshop, guests can buy the Valais Mountain Card with just a few clicks (CHF 49 for adults, CHF 29 for children), which is conveniently delivered by post within 5 days. The card enables immediate and unrestricted access to the offers of the participating 48 partners. The offer is comparable to a season ticket, but with which all participating mountain railways of the Valais mountain railways are open. However, the following applies: only pay for what has been consumed and this with an additional discount of up to 10%.
"This is an innovative and modern offer, which is perfectly tailored to the needs of today's customers: No advance payment, no queuing at the counter and an additional ten percent discount," explains Didier Défago, President of the Valais mountain railways The offer of the mountain railway or the thermal baths used is offset with an additional discount of up to 10% and debited directly from the credit card or with TWINT. Half-day tickets and 4-hour tickets are also billed if the offer is not used for a long time. This also saves the guests from having to laboriously choose from many categories and tariffs for the mountain railways. A transparent billing of the services can be viewed at any time in the customer profile.
Pricenow offers new added value for mountain railways
The new Valais Mountain Card was created in cooperation with the Walliser Bergbahnen and the software and consulting company Pricenow. Pricenow developed the user-friendly webshop valaismountaincard.ch and made the connection to the 48 partners. The connection of the interfaces between the SKIDATA cash register and ticket system and the respective mountain railways ensure that the guests can pass the turnstiles without any problems and that the customer is then charged directly for what was consumed.
Reto Trachsel, CEO Pricenow: “The Valais Mountain Card offers great advantages not only to guests but also to the mountain railways. The processes of the mountain railways are digitized and at the same time their effort is reduced. With fully automated billing for all Valais mountain railways, the solution offers another significant added value. "
The direct debiting of the guests' tariffs is paid to the mountain railways with an automatic payment splitting. The mountain railway benefits from the simple and automatic handling of administrative processes.
