Ischgl To Hold E-Bike World Championship

E-bike world championships will be held again on September 3, 2022 in Ischgl. The world's largest e-bike race for everyone starts on two different routes in the “everyone” and “elite” classes. Drivers aged ten and over are allowed to take part in the open E-Bike World Championship for everyone. E-bikes can be rented on site for a fee. A registration is now open.

World championship title to be awarded

When the E-Bike World Championship for everyone takes place in Ischgl on September 2 and 3, 2022, a world championship title for professional athletes and occasional cyclists from the age of ten will be within reach. The rules of the world's largest e-bike race are simple: “While the fastest biker is crowned world champion in the“ Elite ”class, the participants in the“ Everyman ”class compete against three travel time limits (gold, silver and bronze). If they fall below one of the three defined limits, the e-bikers receive an official Everyman's World Championship gold, silver or bronze medal, ”explains Dr. Markus Mitterdorfer (E-Bike World Federation) the rules. Anyone who falls below the gold limit can call themselves world champions. In addition to the medal achieved in the "Everyman" or Once they are placed in the overall ranking of the "Elite" category, the best of each age group are awarded a prize according to gender and category. There are two different routes. The 24 km long route in the "Everyman" category leads with an altitude of 693 meters over wide paths with a fantastic panorama and impressive mountain scenery. The participants in the "Elite" category are challenged with everything on a 32-kilometer, technically demanding route with steep climbs and spectacular single trails over 1,025 meters in altitude.

The following applies to e-bikes: All commercially available eMTBs (pedelecs) with pedal assistance up to a maximum of 25 km / h, a motor of a maximum of 250 watts and a maximum battery capacity of 800 watts are permitted for the race. A bike check before the start is mandatory. If you don't have your own e-bike, you can rent one on site for a fee. Registration is now possible. All around the World Cup, Ischgl visitors, spectators and drivers can look forward to a colorful supporting program for e-bikes.

Fast registration pays off

Participants who decide quickly can save a lot of money at the E-Bike World Championship: If you register by April 30, 2022, participation costs 59 euros with your own e-bike. E-bikes can be rented on site for a fee. Anyone who registers by August 26, 2022 pays 69 euros. From August 27th, 79 euros are due. Attention: limited starting places - confirmation of the starting place according to the principle "first come first serve".
