Fugen-Kaltenbach 100% Open
The ski season in the First Holiday Region of Fügen-Kaltenbach has now finally started. On December 17 and December 18, the last two gondola lifts in the region will go into operation: "After the successful start in Hochzillertal and Hochfügen, we are pleased that all of our ski areas in the region will be open from this weekend," says Manfred Pfister , Managing Director of TVB Erste Ferienregion Fügen-Kaltenbach. In addition to the areas mentioned, the Spieljochbahn and the Zillertal shuttle - the connection between Hochzillertal and Hochfügen - also start operating at the weekend.
Diverse for skiers and snowboarders
With the Spieljoch, geographically speaking, the first ski area in the Zillertal opens and lives up to its reputation as a family-friendly mountain. With a magic carpet and beginners' area, the first turns in the snow are an experience for beginners on skis, while experienced skiers and snowboarders tackle the longest valley run in the Zillertal. In the Hochzillertal-Hochfügen ski region, too, winter sports enthusiasts will find countless kilometers of slopes of various skill levels, perfectly groomed slopes down to the valley and the finest powder snow at up to 2,500 meters above sea level.
Fun parks are also waiting for the young and the young at heart who are looking for an adrenaline rush. Bretterpark Hochzillertal, for example, is celebrating with the first tour stop of the Zillertal Välley Rälley, a special class freestyle event, a fitting start to the season: "We are happy to give the young snowboarding talents a stage and I am sure that we will see spectacular tricks and exciting placement battles among the freestylers," said Martha Schultz, co-owner of the Hochzillertal and Spieljoch areas.
As on all slopes and in all buildings of the ski areas, the Välley Rälley takes place under the currently valid Corona protective measures. In order to ensure safety in the ski areas, the Covid-19 prevention concept that was tried and tested last year was improved and adapted. The 2G rule, FFP2 masks and the call to keep your distance will accompany winter sports enthusiasts again this year. The hospitable huts in the ski areas serve their delicious food under the applicable rules.
Action away from the slopes
Thanks to the Zillertal shuttle, which is open on Saturday, skiers and snowboarders can easily commute between the Hochzillertal and Hochfügen areas. At up to 2,500 meters above sea level, Hochfügen draws on unlimited resources and especially the young and the young at heart get their money's worth here. In addition, due to its special location, Hochfügen is the "place to be" for deep snow skiers. "From this weekend we will also open the slopes on the Holzalm side of the ski area. This will give our guests even more kilometers for their adventures on skis or snowboards," says Viktoria Gruber from the Hochfügener Bergbahnen.
So nothing stands in the way of a winter adventure in the varied ski areas in the First Holiday Region in the Zillertal Fügen-Kaltenbach. More information at www.best-of-zillertal.at .
