Diversity In The Outdoors, A Key Part Of The OIA Conference & AGM 2021. All Early Bird prices end Friday

With just under a month until the industry meets up again at the OIA annual Conference at Shrigley Hall on the 15th & 16th September, they have added more speakers and topics to the two-day networking event. Diversity and inclusion in the outdoors has been a much talked about topic, with brands, retailers and outdoor organisations all wanting to ensure that difference is made. They have a wide range of speakers on the topic, who will offer an insight into their personal experiences, share findings from the latest research and advise on how to make the outdoors a more inclusive space for all. The conference will finish with a panel on diversity where delegates will be able to ask questions to all the participants. The diversity speakers include:È

KEME NZEREM - BROADCASTER & JOURNALIST
Keme Nzerem is a Nigerian British journalist who works for Channel 4 News as a news anchor and reporter. He joined the programme in 2001. Keme studied geography as an undergraduate at the University of Sussex, and later received a postgraduate degree in broadcast journalism.
DR. CHRIS KAY - CARNEGIE GREAT OUTDOORS
Dr. Chris Kay is a Senior Research Fellow working with Carnegie Great Outdoors. He predominantly works with wounded, injured and sick military personnel at The Battle Back Centre. Chris’s research concerns the way in which participating in structured adapted outdoor and adventurous activities helps facilitate recovery, personal growth and aspects of psychological and physiological wellbeing. Chris is a Neurobiologist, and alongside his career in scientific research he has worked professionally as a rock climbing, mountaineering, kayaking and mountain biking instructor since 2007.
