Sun Valley Ski Resort Closes Out Successful 2020-21 Winter Season

Sun Valley Resort is pleased to report a successful and safe 2020-21 winter season. April 11, 2021 marked a celebratory closing day after a banner season that held plenty of unknown barriers. 

“We are so thankful to our employees, guests and the wider community for cooperating and observing the Covid-19 protocols, and helping to create a safe and fun environment on the mountains and in resort,” said Tim Silva, President and General Manager at Sun Valley Resort. “As the winter season closes, we look forward to enjoying the summer months here in the mountains. While maintaining a safe environment remains our priority, we are thrilled to kick off summer operations in June with plenty of outdoor activities for our community and guests.”

Season passes for the 2021-22 winter season are now on sale and can be purchased at sunvalley.com/mountain-passes. Buy not for early bird pricing, prices will increase over the summer.  

Preparing for Summer, Sun Valley Resort is looking forward to the return of Sun Valley on Ice, opening on July 3rd and running Saturday nights through Labor Day. Sun Valley on Ice delivers an original lineup of all-star skaters including Olympic medalists and world-class figure skaters. 

Joining the return of this acclaimed experience, the return of the Sun Valley Music Festival, the opening of their world class golf courses and the return of lift accessed Mountain biking on Baldy will bolster Sun Valley’s rich Summer offerings for guests and local community alike. And to wind down amid all the activities, the resort offers world class restaurants with outdoor dining, and the award-winning Spa at Sun Valley delivering rejuvenating and luxurious treatments. 

The golf season will commence with the opening of the 6,986-yard Trail Creek championship course, the 7,214 yard-long Elkhorn Golf course and the nine-hole White Clouds course. Sun Valley Resort’s golf courses offer the country’s most amazing views on world renown greens for every level golfer.

Late June and early July will ring in mountain biking, hiking, and yoga at Bald Mountain. With over 400 miles of single-track spread throughout the valley, individuals of all ages and experience levels can find something for them. The technical and rugged trails on Bald Mountain now boast the country’s longest purpose-built downhill and 3,100 feet of lift-access trails. The more relaxed White Cloud Trails offer stunning views of the valley and a great hiking or biking experience for beginners and families.
