Chinese Skiers Make Giant Snowtracks 'Calligraphy Declaration' To Celebrate Beijing Games
Recently, a giant "Snow Declaration" appeared in the earliest human skiing area at latitude 48 degrees north and longitude 87 degrees east, located at the Jiangjunshan ski resort in the Altay Prefecture of Xinjiang, China.
This "Snow Declaration" is 200 meters long and 80 meters wide. Seen from high above, on the right is a giant Chinese character meaning "good," with two smaller Chinese characters next to it, forming a phrase meaning "have faith in." On the left is an image of a Chinese girl in traditional Chinese cheongsam. Below is a line of smaller Chinese characters meaning "Let the world have faith in China."
This grand ice and snow event is a tribute to the Olympics Winter Games Beijing 2022, initiated by Yang Yang, Winter Olympic champion, in conjunction with Tsingtao Brewery Co., Ltd., the official sponsor of the Olympics Winter Games Beijing 2022.
This "Snow Declaration" was jointly completed by Winter Olympic champion Yang Yang, five ski coaches, and ski enthusiasts. By using the snowfield as paper and the snowboards as a combined brush, they expressed the good intentions of China to the world through the Chinese character "Good."
Chinese characters are extensive and profound. The Chinese character "Good" represents the best wishes of the Chinese people and the most important blessing for the Olympics Winter Games Beijing 2022. From this, we can see that all Chinese are actively welcoming the Olympics Winter Games Beijing 2022 and are confident of its success. Besides, the Chinese character "Good" represents the hospitality of the Chinese people. As the host country, we welcome skiing and skating athletes from all over the world to show a better self and create better results in Beijing.
To write the Chinese character "Good" in a smooth and fluent font through skiing requires great skill. The prototype of the smooth and majestic Chinese character "Good" in the Snow Declaration is taken from an old poster in the Tsingtao Beer Museum, the first beer museum in China. It also appeared on the fashion crossover clothes designed by Tsingtao Beer on China Day at New York Fashion Week. The connotation embodied in this Chinese character "Good" with Tsingtao Beer's century-old history coincides with the passion, dedication, and persistence of sportsmanship.
In 2005, Chinese archaeologists discovered on a rock wall in the Altay Prefecture of Xinjiang the rock paintings of ancient people skiing and hunting tens of thousands of years ago. In 2015, through many efforts, over 30 ski history research experts and scholars from 18 countries and regions jointly made the "Altay Declaration." The Altay Prefecture of Xinjiang was recognized internationally as the origin of skiing.
This special "Snow Declaration" in Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang where skiing originated, jointly launched by Winter Olympic champion Yang Yang, Tsingtao Brewery Co., Ltd., the official sponsor of the Olympics Winter Games Beijing 2022, and five Chinese skiers, demonstrates the Chinese people's self-confidence in skiing and skating, showing China's strength in skiing and skating, as well as the creativity of Chinese youth.
In recent years, more and more Chinese brands have been appearing in overseas markets, including Tsingtao Beer, each using their own methods to convey China's cultural confidence and youth trends. This "Snow Declaration," notably with the century-old Chinese character "Good" interpreted in an unprecedented way, is a new example to show the historical heritage and responsibility of Chinese brands like Tsingtao Beer.
