GB Snowsport Industry Backs Slide Trade Show

Slide, the annual snowsport tradeshow, takes place in January, every year and is run by SIGB (Snowsport Industries of Great Britain).

With the last winter season being curtailed by the Covid-19 pandemic, there was uncertainty as to how the launch of the annual tradeshow would be received. The snowsport industry, however, has shown great resilience in promising to come together in 2021 for the show, taking place from 19th-21st January.

Just a month after going on sale, no less than 54% of the show has already been sold.

Covid-19 Mitigations –Slide is committed to being safe for visitors and exhibitors and will be adhering to best practice, as outlined by 3 major event industry bodies; the AEO (Association of Event Organisers), ESSA (Event Services and Suppliers Association) and EVA (Event Venues Association), and approved by the UK government.

As the show approaches, Slide will inform exhibitors and visitors of the measures that have been put in place by the venue, contractors and organisers, as well as describing measures that visiting individuals and organisations will be required to adopt themselves, to make Slide a safe and healthy place to do busines

Lesley Beck, show organiser enthused, “The vast majority of previous exhibitors were pleased to hear from me and really keen to discuss their plans for next year at Slide.”

Snowsport Industries has promised that, should the show be cancelled, it will refund 75% of the exhibitor booking cost, limiting the risk for exhibitors. Prices for Slide remain at early booking rates until mid October, so potential exhibitors are encouraged to contact the organisers to agree their site in the coming weeks.

The confidence of the snowsport industry is matched by consumer enthusiasm according to the Ski Club of Great Britain consumer research. In early summer, the Ski Club reported that 96% of those who took a snowsport holiday last year, plan to do so again this coming winter, despite Covid-19 uncertainty.
