DPS Hires Phantom Sales And Tech Rep To Support Dealer Network
DPS, makers of PHANTOM Permanent Waxless Glide, recently added ski industry stalwart Shaun Spacht to its team. Spacht, who will take on the newly created position of PHANTOM Sales and Technical Representative, will bolster programs for the award-winning permanent base glide treatment that forever eliminates the need for waxing skis and snowboards.
“Shaun brings excellent industry experience and valued relationships to our team as PHANTOM’s rate of adoption continues to grow,” said Steve Kropf, VP of sales for DPS and PHANTOM. “As we head into the 2020/21 winter season, he will play a critical role in connecting with current retail partners, as well as creating new relationships with shops throughout North America.”
Having held a number of roles for a variety of highly-regarded snowsports companies over the last 20-plus years, Spacht’s vast experience includes time with Atomic, Christy Sports and Surefoot. From working in the back shop as a ski and snowboard technician, to specialty retail sales, to dealer service as a vendor sales and tech rep, his deep breadth of knowledge around the ski and snowboard industry will help drive new service and revenue opportunities for specialty dealers.
“I’m excited to meet with familiar accounts as well as new retailers to help them join the next chapter of glide performance," said Spacht. “With over two decades of experience in multiple phases of the industry, I've gained a deep understanding of all sides of the conversation and look forward to addressing the unique challenges each dealer faces as we work together to accomplish our goals.”
Developed by a team of expert chemists and material science engineers, PHANTOM’s patent-pending formula creates a hydrophobic environment that offers three undeniable benefits. First, unlike topical wax, PHANTOM is only applied once and permanently alters the chemistry of ski and board bases to make them both faster and harder for the life of the product. Second, PHANTOM offers consistently fast on-snow gliding performance across a broad range of conditions and temperatures. Third, the glide-friendly fluorocarbon functional groups are delivered in a superior method that renders them inert and harmless to humans, plants and animals, once cured into a ski or snowboard base. Cured PHANTOM doesn’t cause biological damage and doesn’t present any long-term environmental risks.
Since introduction nearly three years ago, PHANTOM has received critical acclaim from a number of publications and organizations, including: ISPO, Outdoor Retailer, Wired, Outside magazine, Powder, Freeskier, SKI, Backcountry magazine, Wild Snow, Gear Institute, Gear Junkie, Gear Patrol and Pug Ski.
