Demaclenko Develops Mobile Disinfection System Using Snow Guns

In the fight against the corona virus, DEMACLENKO developed an efficient mobile disinfection solution with an adapted snow gun. The solution is provided to the South Tyrolean (IT) communities free of charge for the disinfection of public places by using a 100% biodegradable disinfectant.

Already at the beginning of the Corona pandemic, the experts from DEMACLENKO started tests with snow guns to implement large-scale disinfection measures of public spaces. The central element is a high-performance snow gun connected to a water pump, which ensures the optimum water pressure, and a 100% biodegradable disinfectant is used. After the first test runs with trucks including a water tank were successfully completed, a test in connection with a fire engine was also successfully implemented together with the local volunteer fire brigade in order to ensure maximum mobility and the flexible application range of the solution.

Thanks to the snow gun's large-area water atomization, the application is particularly effective in disinfecting public places, streets, bus stations, waste collection points and the areas in front of supermarkets and shops. The mobile solution was made available free of charge to the South Tyrolean (IT) municipalities for the area-wide disinfection in coordination with the Agency for Civil Protection. In cooperation with the volunteer local fire brigades, the disinfection has already been carried out in some communities, including Val Gardena, Bressanone and Vipiteno.

In addition, the company is currently evaluating the deployment in other countries in cooperation with its branch offices and offers its customers worldwide technical support for the implementation: Numerous ski resorts are planning similar operations in their towns with their DEMACLENKO snow guns.
