Mabey Ski Launches Exclusive New Southern Hemisphere Heliski Adventure

New Zealand and Japan ski specialist, Mabey Ski, has launched a new holiday that combines the ultimate Southern Hemisphere ski adventure in New Zealand’s newest 5* chalet property – Chalet New Zermatt.

  • Brand new 5* chalet property overlooking Lake Wakatipu – being hailed as the country’s top ski chalet
  • Combine resort skiing with heliski charters and heli-excursions to remote South Island locations
  • Gourmet food and exclusive wine tasting experiences
The eight-night itinerary includes skiing at Queenstown’s Coronet Peak and Remarkables ski fields, as well as two days of private heliskiing, wine tasting with the winemaker, jet boat transfers, Fjordland exploring and heli-accessed gourmet dining at a remote mountain station where freshly caught crayfish is prepared for lunch.

The chalet can take up to eight guests in four bedrooms and the holiday costs NZ$264,000 (around £130,000 or £16,000 per person), on a full-board basis with a private chef and including all the activities and excursions with private use of a helicopter throughout the week.

It’s billed as the ultimate Southern Hemisphere luxury ski trip at what is the most talked about new property at the lakeside destination of Queenstown – New Zealand’s adventure capital and home to some of the best restaurants, shopping and nightlife in the country.

Founder of Mabey Ski, Nickie Mabey, said: “I’m really excited to be able to share this one-of-a-kind itinerary with our guests, which was inspired by my most memorable and truly mind-blowing experiences in New Zealand, offering a blend of luxury and thrill-seeking adventure that begins with a jet boat transfer from the airport to Chalet New Zermatt – New Zealand’s newest chalet. Whilst this trip may be full of adrenaline-pumping activities, our guests are also pampered – with ski and snowboard rental fitted in the chalet, a private chef preparing gourmet meals and a Kiwi guide taking care of the rest, they can just soak up the endless vistas of alpine lakes and snow-capped mountain ranges from different perspectives – their bedroom window or even a scenic flight to a world-class winery. With access to more than 850,000 hectares of heliski terrain, there’s no shortage of fresh tracks to be had too”.

Dates: Mid-July through to mid-September 2020. Price: NZ$264,000 (around £130,000) for up to eight persons, including; eight nights at the Chalet New Zermatt on a full-board basis with a private chef, welcome drinks, jet boat transfers, ski or snowboard hire, lift passes, local guide, private transfers, two days of chartered heli-skiing, several gourmet lunches accessed by helicopter, Fjordland trip by helicopter, private boat trip on Dusky Sound, private helicopter to vineyard and wine tasting with the winemaker.
