Warren Smith Ski Academy Continues With Scheduled Program During December
The Warren Smith Ski Academy has continued to run its courses throughout December out of its base in the ski resort of Verbier, Switzerland.
Despite the challenges faced due to the Covid-19 pandemic, ski resorts in Switzerland have managed to stay open and this has allowed the academy to continue working with its clients, who have mainly travelled from the UK.
Class sizes have been reduced to a maximum of 4, to ensure social distancing measures are followed. The courses run over 5 days, normally from Sunday to Friday with a day off in between and the hours on the slopes have allowed some of the participating skiers to work remotely and extend their stays for longer than one week.
Further announcements about Swiss ski resorts are expected, but Director of the Warren Smith Ski Academy, Warren Smith, said: “Verbier has done a fantastic job of managing the situation here and everyone feels confident that we are safe on the mountain and when we’re inside too. There are strict measures in place, but they are working and our clients have been impressed with how well organised everything is. The restaurants are also working hard to ensure people’s safety is their first priority and we have reduced the size of our classes, but to be honest, we are able to work and that is the most important thing”.
The academy courses are now scheduled to run as normal, with smaller class sizes, every week throughout the winter, providing the ski resort remains open and it’s safe to be outside on the slopes.
