FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships 2021 Confirmed For Bansko
The Organising Committee of the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships 2021, Bansko (BUL) have confirmed the event, taking place from the 1st to 10th of March, 2021. The decision is based on the current local COVID-19situation and the imposed restrictions form health authorities as per 30.11.2020.
In this special situation, the programme will be adapted to include three races per gender and a separation of the flows between men’s and women’s teams and the teams arriving and leaving in separate waves. Also, the number of participants is reduced. The Junior World Championships will take place without any side events, including opening, closing, awarding. bib draw in public areas and without spectators during the races.
„Although this very challenging global and local situation we really hope, that we will be able to deliver high class events with positive attitude and successful outcome, which will add value for our sports and will bring on the stage a new generation of promising young talents, said Georgi Bobev, Vice President of the Bulgarian Ski Association.
“We are very pleased to receive the confirmation for Bansko 2021. This event is the most important of each winter for our junior competitors and coaches. It keeps the motivation high for the future", Ken Read, Chairman of the FIS Sub-Committee for Alpine Youth & Children’s Questions added.
The invitation for participation in the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships will be send at the latest by December 10th 2020.
