Backcountry Partners With USA Nordic As Official Retailer
Backcountry, the online specialty retailer of premium outdoor gear, accessories and apparel, announced today that it will partner with USA Nordic, the national leadership organization for nordic combined and ski jumping. Backcountry will serve as the official online retail store of licensed USA Nordic apparel and will provide all USA Nordic athletes with official Backcountry attire.
“Backcountry’s strong presence in the U.S. market will give USA Nordic a solid platform to strengthen and build our relationship with fans, thanks to a wider variety of products and Backcountry’s ability to provide a seamless retail experience,” says Olympic champion and USA Nordic Executive Director Billy Demong. “This partnership with Backcountry will equip our athletes with high-quality, technical gear and apparel for training and competitions, helping to provide them with a competitive edge.”
As the official online retailer for licensed USA Nordic gear and apparel, Backcountry will sell USA Nordic product on USA Nordic’s Official Team Store. Fans will get a first glance of USA Nordic apparel starting December 18; some of the highlighted product offerings will be the USA Nordic Hayden Jacket and Pants, USA Nordic Girdwood Jacket and USA Nordic Halley Puffy.
“As an organization full of former pro athletes, gear junkies and outdoor industry experts, Backcountry shares the same passion and excitement for winter sport as USA Nordic—especially for ski jumping and Nordic combined. It is not widely known that Backcountry and USA Nordic share common roots. One of our founders, Jim Holland, is a two-time Olympic ski jumper. This is a great way to honor his legacy while supporting the growth of a sport at the core of who we are,” says Sarah Crockett, chief marketing officer at Backcountry. “It is very fulfilling to work with an organization based in our community where we can build a foundation for a lasting partnership.”
USA Nordic is the professional sports organization that supports ski jumping and nordic combined. These winter sports have a deep history dating back to the first Winter Olympics at Chamonix in 1924. As a highly-regarded organization, USA Nordic’s ultimate mission is to develop the best ski and endurance athletes in the world.
