TechnoAlpin Opens Second Chinese Branch In Zhangjiakou
As a leader in the field of snowmaking technology, TechnoAlpin is an active player on the world stage. With 15 branches in 13 countries to date, the company guarantees proximity on all continents to 2,400 customers and counting. Now that a second branch has been established in China in Zhangjiakou in Hebei province, yet another location has recently been added to the list of TechnoAlpin branches, following on from the first in Sanhe City
Zhangjiakou is located about 200 km north-west of Beijing in the area known as the “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei” city cluster. The city can be reached by high-speed train from Beijing in 55 minutes. The area has a history spanning almost 20 years in winter sports. The region is market leader in the national ski industry with five ski areas at present. Zhangjiakou is also a popular ski resort and holiday destination for winter sports enthusiasts from the surrounding countries.
As co-host of the 2022 Winter Olympics, the city of Zhangjiakou is also very prominent in the field of Chinese winter sports. 50 events in six disciplines – snowboarding, freestyle skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined events and biathlon – will be held in 2022 in the “Nordic Center and Biathlon Center” and in the Genting Snow Park in the region. TechnoAlpin is known to have secured 100% of the technical snowmaking contracts for the 2022 Winter Olympics. This is another reason why Zhangjiakou is of great importance as a new location for TechnoAlpin.
The new branch is part of the 247,000m2 “Snow and Ice Equipment Industrial Park” which has been developed in Zhangjiakou by the Chinese government. The Industrial Park is dedicated exclusively to the winter sports business – from clothing right through to snowmaking equipment and ski lifts. The branch consists of two plants with a total of 12,200 m2 of production and storage space, and 1,020 m2 for offices and other services. In addition to purchasing, administration, logistics, a technical department for research & development, and quality control, the Zhangjiakou site is primarily home to a production facility for accessories for snow guns and various snowmaking system components and to an extensive warehouse for the entire Chinese market. There are eight employees based at the site in the current set-up phase. The branch will be officially opened in October 2020.
