Star Chef Marcus G. Lindner Opens Eggli, New Mountain Restaurant In Gstaad
Star chef Marcus G. Lindner will be the chief restaurateur of the Bergbahnen Destination Gstaad AG and will be cooking in the new Eggli mountain restaurant for the coming winter season. Lindner is one of the leading restaurateurs in Switzerland. Thanks to his creations, the Mesa restaurant in Zurich became number 1 in the city. He has also stood out several times in Gstaad: at The Alpina Gstaad, he has a Michelin star and 18 Gault Millau points and managed the Chesery and Park Hotel restaurants.
Gstaad offers connoisseurs a wide range of culinary delights. In addition to village inns and pubs in nature, the destination has 16 Gault Millau restaurants in the smallest space. With Marcus G. Lindner, winter guests will find even more places to enjoy in the ski area from December: As the head restaurateur of the Bergbahnen Destination Gstaad AG (BDG), the Vorarlberg takes over the responsibility of the mountain chalets and becomes a member of the management. Among other things, he will open the new mountain restaurant Eggli - from December 19 he will cook on Gstaad's local mountain.
Marcus G. Lindner has been associated with Gstaad for years and is looking forward to the new challenge. He says "My aspiration is to bring the quality that exists in Gstaad to the mountains. A first project, for example, is to help shape the kitchen in the new mountain restaurant. There will be a mix of high-quality culinary offerings as well as simple and down-to-earth dishes. I'll tell you more in December and look forward to the season opening".
