40th Edition Of “ Der Schneehase” Introduced In Oberhofen At FIS HQ
The 40th edition of the book “Der Schneehase” (the Snow Rabbit) was presented at the FIS Headquarters in Oberhofen (SUI). The book, which has been published by the Swiss Academic Ski Club (SAS) since 1924, is a compilation of different articles on the history and traditions of snow sports, innovations and the future as well as portraits of important personalities.
The 40th edition features portraits of FIS President Gian Franco Kasper, Dario Cologna, Sarah Springman, Ester Ledecka, Ramon Zenhäusern and former Swiss Federal Councillor Arnold Koller, as well as articles on the spectacular first ski climb of Montblanc in 1904, the Winter Olympics in Switzerland, sustainability and global warming, as well as the future and innovation in ski sports.
Approximately 50 guests were at the FIS headquarters to learn more about the book and hear a panel discussion on the topic “high performance sports and studies” hosted by Urs Schüpbach. Panellists were Leonz Eder, the Director of Swiss University Sports, Christoph Nater, Central President of the Swiss Academic Ski Club as well as athlete Tanguy Nef.
Among the guests were former Swiss Federal Council Arnold Koller, Michael Huber from Kitzbühl, Max Amstutz and many honorary members of the SAS. An apéro and informal talks and exchanges concluded the event.
