Rossignol Launches “White Friday” In Support Of Protect Our Winters
Rossignol is accelerating its commitment to initiatives addressing climate change, including its longtime partnership with Protect Our Winters (POW). In addition to stepping up its overall global commitment which will help fuel POW’s new European chapters, Rossignol is launching its “White Friday” promotion during the first week of the holiday buying season, Nov 28 to Dec 2, 2019.
During this period, Rossignol will donate 10% of all global online and Rossignol retail store sales to Protect Our Winters, giving consumers an opportunity to use their purchasing power to affect positive change and contribute to climate change advocacy.
“Climate change obviously has a direct effect on all of us,” said Bruno Cercley, CEO, Rossignol Group. “Though we are still far from perfect, our Group has quietly been making strides toward sustainability for years through reductions in energy consumption, optimization of logistics, product life-cycle considerations and more. We are still working to progress in all these arenas and will continue to become a more active voice in the climate conversation. In this regard we are quite proud to continue and accelerate our partnership with POW.”
Founded in 2007 by Jeremy Jones, Protect Our Winters has grown to become the snow sports industry’s leading voice in the climate change fight, raising awareness through advocacy and the promotion of effective legislation that can counter the impacts of climate change on a global scale. Rossignol was one of the founding donors for Protect Our Winters when Jones was a team rider for the brand.
“I am proud to say we have been involved for well over a decade with various groups and initiatives such as Protect Our Winters,” said Francois Goulet, President, Rossignol Group North America. “I still remember my initial conversation with Jeremy after he’d witnessed some of climate change’s effects first hand. Since then, Jeremy and POW have been an instrumental force in elevating our awareness of this issue not only here at Rossignol, but around the world. They are truly difference-makers both in terms of making change at the legislative level as well as the day-to-day changes in our own behavior.”
