Demaclenko Brings Snow To Milan
Winter is round the corner. The reason for the occasion was to present the novelties and highlights of the winter season 2019/2020. Dolomiti Superski invited representatives of the press from all over Italy to the Sporting Milano 3 Sports Meeting Centre in Milan. DEMACLENKO greeted the visitors on-site with white splendour, thanks to the innovative technology of Snow4Ever. This unconventional snowmaker answers the demand for optimal artificial snow at temperatures above freezing point. In spite of unfavourable weather conditions in Milan, Snow4Ever produced impeccable snow quality at an outdoor temperature of 17 degrees. Maybe this special type of snowmaking results from a scientific innovation within the system, whereby real snowflakes arise regardless of outdoor temperature and without chemical additions. The need for climate-independent snowmaking solutions increases year by year.
At the press conference, Sandro Lazzar, President of Dolomiti Superski, emphasized the importance of technological snowmaking for the greatest ski carousel worldwide. This year alone, c. 100 m euros would be invested in modernising the 12 ski resorts in order to increase amenities, safety and the guarantee of snow. Around one-third of investments made flowed into sustainable snowmaking technologies. More than 95% of the 1,200 kilometers of Dolomiti Superski pistes are already equipped with snow machines.
In addition, the highlight events in Cortina for the coming year were presented at the event. The Queen of the Dolomites is the setting for the Final of this year's Alpine Ski World Cup and the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships 2021, in which DEMACLENKO, along with its sister organisations LEITNER and PRINOTH, is a technical partner. At the Col Druscié three pumping stations were recently finished, which completes the total concept of the snowmaking facility in the Tofane area.
At Col Druscié the construction of three pumping stations was recently finished, which completes the overall concept of the snowmaking facilities in the Tofane region with a series of new pumping stations and course material, including the most up-to-date snowmakers. The former skiing legend Kristian Ghedina maintained that the pistes at Col Druscié were his favourite descents since childhood.
Interest in Snow4Ever is growing, and also opportunities for its use are becoming more varied. Along with the security of low-lying ski resorts, this groundbreaking technology is also being installed at other sporting events and indeed events of every type. Currently, projects are being implemented domestically and in other European countries.
