Lifetime Achievement Award For Hans Wiedemann Delegate Of The Board At Badrutt’s Palace, St. Moritz
Hans Widemann, Delegate of the Board at Badrutt’s Palace hotel, has this month been presented with the Alumni Network of the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (AEHL) Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his remarkable professional path; an inspiration and example to EHL students and alumni over the world.
“I am very humbled and honoured to receive this prestigious award which I would like to share with everybody who accompanied me during my career; guests, owners, family, friends, board members and the wonderful staff. This award is a result of excellent teamwork,” says Hans Wiedemann. A top hotelier, admired by guests, colleagues and industry professionals worldwide; Wiedemann has a variety of awards up his sleeve. In 2007 he was awarded “Hotelier of the Year” by the Swiss “Bilanz” magazine, as well as the Australian national award for “Excellence in Service” and in 2009 he was recognized as “Hotelier of the World” by the “Hotels” publication.
In 2004, Hansjürg Badrutt convinced Wiedemann to join him in St. Moritz as Managing Director of Badrutt’s Palace Hotel. He willingly took on the role and aspired to ensure the Palace preserved its celebrated deep-rooted history whilst continuing to shine as an icon of global hospitality. Wiedemann’s dedication and successful approach to service led Hansjürg Badrutt to ask Widemann to go on to become a majority shareholder of “The Grand Dame” of St. Moritz. In February 2019 Wiedemann retired but he continues to serve as Delegate of the Board and his passion for Badrutt's Palace remains.
