Summer In Full Swing, Bogus Basin Plans A Music-filled Weekend

Seven-day-a-week summer operations continue at Bogus Basin, and with Treasure Valley temperatures expected to remain in the upper 90’s over the next several days, the nonprofit  recreation area is the place to be for residents seeking outdoor recreation and cooler mountain air.

“This is a perfect time to head up to Bogus Basin, we have a fun weekend planned,” said General Manager Brad Wilson.

“The trails are in great shape and the weather is fantastic – there is something going on for everyone to enjoy.”
A big weekend highlight: Music on the Mountain, the free all day concert on the lawn outside Simplot Lodge.
Popular reggae band, Voice of Reason, will be the headliner on Saturday. Lo-Fi and Pearl Tones will also be
featured on the Simplot Base Area stage. The event is from 12:00 to 6:00pm. Live music will continue into
Sunday with Music on the Patio. Local musician Spencer Batt is scheduled to play on the plaza outside Simplot
Lodge from 2:00 to 5:00pm.

2019 has been the third consecutive summer for big projects at Bogus Basin. The area continues to make
significant enhancements as it implements a year-round master plan that was adopted by the nonprofit’s
volunteer Board of Directors in 2016. Progress continues on key projects, including the highly anticipated
replacement of the Morning Star Chairlift. In March, Bogus Basin officials announced that a new high speed
quad chairlift would be installed in time for the launch of the 2019-20 season. Construction remains on
schedule. Additionally, major repairs and upgrades are being made to the Pioneer Lodge.

Seven-day-a-week operations continue at Bogus Basin through August 18th, followed by weekend operations
scheduled through October 6th. Hours are 11:00am to 7:00pm. Offerings include the Glade Runner Mountain
Coaster, Deer Point Chairlift (for scenic rides and bike transport), summer tubing, bungee trampoline, climbing
wall, retail/bike rentals, Double R Ranch BBQ Smokehouse, gem panning, and a weekend bike shuttle.
Unlimited free access is available to a broad network of hiking and biking trails.
