Action Outdoors Launch New UCPA Summer Destinations Outside France For The First Time

Action Outdoors, the UK arm of not-for-profit organisation, the UCPA, has for the first time launched summer destinations outside of France.

Known as ‘Sport Planet’ by UCPA, the new centres run on the same lines as any other in the group, with all-inclusive, shared accommodation with meals, instruction and equipment supplied. Prices are also in-line with the value-for-money offering that UCPA are well-known for.

Holidays run throughout the summer commencing May 13, 2019 and in many cases going through until the end of October, with hundreds of combinations available depending on the type of holiday and chosen week.

The new destinations are:

Egypt: El Gouna
Morocco: Essaouira, Dakhla
Portugal: Peniche, Sagres
Cape Verde: Sal

The activities on offer in the new locations include; Scuba Diving, Kite Surfing, windsurfing, surfing, yoga, golf and horse-riding.

Managing Director of Action Outdoors, David Robertson, said: “We offer so many amazing destinations within France but it’s exciting to be able to expand our product outside of our traditional base. We’re making some of these more ‘exotic’ locations accessible to more people, with the same ethos as any other UCPA centre – great value for money, good food and a high standard of accommodation. Now we can offer a huge program across coasts and mountains not only in France but further afield too”.

Selected Holidays:

UCPA scuba diving and kitesurf, El Gouna (all ability levels): From May 13 to October 12, 2019.
UCPA surf and wellness, Peniche (all ability levels): From May 13 to October 26, 2019.
UCPA surf, Sagres (all ability levels):From July 6 to September 14, 2019.
UCPA kitesurf coaching, Essaouira (intermediate): rom May 26 to August 30, 2019. Beginners kitesurfing options also available.
UCPA scuba diving exploration (Intermediate and advanced): From April 14 to May 5.
UCPA kitesurfing beginners, Dakhla (beginner): From April 13 to October 24, 2019.

UCPA was set up over 50 years ago to encourage young people to take part in outdoors sports. It has since developed into a not for profit organisation that provides sport holidays for a wide range of ages with a huge range of accommodation options. Each year over 240,000 people enjoy a sport holiday with UCPA, enjoying accessibility to outdoor sports regardless of social background, income or culture.

A total of 80 different sports activities are offered in UCPA centres all year round, including, skiing, surfing, mountaineering, diving, sailing and horse riding. During winter, UCPA centres operate in some of the top resorts in the Alps such as Val Thorens, Tignes, Val d’Isère and Chamonix. The holidays are always All Inclusive – lift passes, ski hire, all meals and guiding is included in the price. UCPA is the largest ski school in France and have their own instructor development program which allows young people to develop their career in sport instruction, whilst providing a strong base of instructors and guides to work within each centre for the whole season.
