FIS Nordic World Ski Championships Seefeld part of Austrian “Day of Sports”
The most successful Austrian athletes turned the “Prater” in Vienna into the biggest sports outdoor ground of Europe on last weekend.
The Austrian Ski Federation was part of the programme of the “Day of Sports”, which not only brought the stars of the sports world out, but also the political leaders in form of chancellor Sebastian Kurz and Minister of Sports, Heinz-Christian Strache
Visitors were able to try a downhill simulator, an agility challenge of the Freeski team and a miniature jumping hill, which Sports Minister Strache tried in person. Long lines queued in front of the Ski Austria autograph tent where fans were able to get up close and personal with ski and snowboard stars Willi Denifl, Lukas Klapfer, Anna Gasser, Benjamin Karl, Katharina Gallhuber, Katharina Liensberger, Marco Schwarz, Michael Matt, Anna Veith and Marcel Hirscher.
The upcoming FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Seefeld (AUT) also played a prominent role in the programme when ÖSV President Dr Peter Schröcksnadel presented Chancellor Kurz and Sports Minister Strache with their official ticket to the championships.
