Warren Miller’s “Face Of Winter” Launches - 69th Annual Miller Winter Sports Action Film
If winter puts a smile on your face, it’s something you had in common with the late, great Warren Miller. The warm, witty, mildly eccentric godfather of the ski-and-ride film was the man who got us started on this long, crazy ride. This fall, don’t miss Volkswagen presents Warren Miller’s Face of Winter, the 69th installment from Warren Miller Entertainment.
Face of Winter will premiere worldwide at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in downtown Portland, Oregon on October 12, 2018.
Look for chances to grab one of the Warren Miller-Chaos custom hats throughout the tour, which travels to 33 states and countless venues in the US and Canada - the home of the Chaos Headquarters. Register to win prizes and big raffle swag at the Paramount Theater venue in Denver, November 15th, 16th and 17th, 2018.
“Warren Miller, without a doubt, is our premier event for 2018-19,” said U.S. Director of Sales Gary Supple. “It’s been 69 fun years since Warren Miller innovatively added film to skiing and the crazy antics. With Warren’s passing there is no better homage than to keep the awe and inspiration downhill, in helicopters and through backstreets. We love these films.”
Face of Winter visits some of Warren’s favorite locations, from Engleberg to Chamonix, British Columbia to Alaska, Chile, Iceland, New Zealand, Washington and more. Watch world-class skiers like Jessie Diggins, along with the U.S. Nordic Ski Team as they train like champions. Catch big mountain athletes like Anna Segal, Dash Longe, Forrest Jillson, Amie Engerbretson, Seth Wescott, Jim Ryan, Marcus Caston and others as they carve down the faces of remote mountain ranges in pursuit of a life lived in high places. “This year’s film is for anyone whose life (whether they realize it or not) was impacted by Warren Miller,” says WME Managing Director Andy Hawk. “We are all the face of winter—from the athletes to the audience to the locals in far-off destinations or even at our home mountain. Warren recognized this, and this year’s film celebrates that.”
WME will be working with title sponsor Volkswagen for the second year and is also excited to announce a brand new, three-year exclusive rum partnership with Mount Gay Rum. In addition to Chaos Headwear, other 2018 film tour partners include L.L. Bean, Helly Hansen, Marmot, K2, Black Crows, Marker Dalbello Völkl USA, Blizzard Tecnica, Switzerland Tourism, Ski Portillo and SKI Magazine.
