Vibram Launches Waterproof Oslo Furoshiki with Arctic Grip
Vibram, the worldwide leader in high performance soles and the creator of the Vibram FiveFingers articulated toe shoe, announces the first fully waterproof addition to the award-winning line of Vibram Furoshiki wrapping shoes: The Oslo.
“The Oslo offers all the warmth and performance of a winter boot without any additional bulk,” says Chris Melton, Director of Sales and Distribution for Finished Goods at Vibram Corporation. “We’ve weatherproofed the Furoshiki without sacrificing the signature comfort of the wrapping design.”
The gusseted wing design of the new Oslo maintains the same wrapping style closure as other Vibram Furoshiki models, while insuring water, ice, and snow don’t break through. Like other Furoshiki models, the Oslo is an easy-on, multi-use shoe with a flexible upper for a comfortable fit. The Vibram Arctic Grip tread adds confidence when navigating winter conditions.
In its third winter season, Vibram’s Arctic Grip technology continues to expand into new categories with new partner brands. Highlights for the Fall 2018 season include winter hiking boots from Merrell, a winterized men’s boot from UGG, and a robust lineup from new Vibram Arctic Grip partner, Kodiak.
“We could not have anticipated how popular Vibram Arctic Grip would be among consumers and partner brands,” says Lawrence Anastasi, Director of Sales at Vibram Corporation. “The visible performance on ice, coupled with the longevity you’d expect from a Vibram sole even after miles of wear, makes Arctic Grip one of our most popular soles.”
Arriving at retail this winter, Merrell’s newest hiker, Thermo Rogue, introduces Vibram Arctic Grip Dura. The new sole, exclusive with Merrell this season, is Vibram’s latest state-of-the-art wet ice sole technology and is the most durable, advanced cold-weather gripping system Vibram offers.
Along with Merrell, UGG also expands its Vibram Arctic Grip offerings for Fall 2018. The technology will be available in the UGG Avalanche Neumel for men and the UGG classic short for women. The Avalanche Neumel maintains all the fashion of the classic men’s chukka boot, while prioritizing performance with the addition of waterproof leather, Vibram Arctic Grip, and a wool lining for winter wear.
Kodiak’s collection with Vibram Arctic Grip also blends performance with fashion for a comprehensive line of four weatherproof lifestyle boots. The Rover II boot is a pull-on, Chelsea style boot rated to comfortably withstand temperatures down to -22 F. The intersection of style with the best performance is a signature of Vibram Arctic Grip shoes across the board in Fall 2018.
With winter quickly approaching, Vibram is currently selling Arctic Grip products at its experiential Vibram store in the heart of Boston, online via www.vibram.com, and at supporting retailers. Lastly, the Vibram Sole Factor Tour is offering Vibram Arctic Grip this winter.
