Ski Utah’s Fifth And Sixth Grade Passport Program Goes Digital

Ski Utah’s Fifth and Sixth Grade Passport Program is open for applications on a new online platform, making it one of the only Passport programs in the country to go fully digital. Now in its 20th year, the Passport program gives fifth graders three days (39 days total) and sixth graders one day (13 days total) of skiing or riding at each of Utah’s 13 resorts.

The new digital platform allows parents to apply and pay the $45 administrative fee for the Passport online. After the application has been approved, students can instantly redeem their tickets without any printed media. The platform is also fully integrated into Ski Utah’s Fourth Grade Learn to Ski and Ride program, allowing students to participate in a three-year immersion program.

“Taking the Passport application and redemption process digital is a welcome improvement to our already successful program,” said Ski Utah’s Vice President of Marketing Raelene Davis, who helped launch the program in 1998. “Families don’t have to wait to get their passport in the mail; students have almost immediate access to the resorts and parents can track redemption and explore passport holder perks like deals on companion tickets, rentals, lessons or off-mountain activities. It makes the whole process faster and easier for not only passport holders but also for our resort partners.”

Since the inception of Ski Utah’s school program, more than 200,000 fourth graders have learned to ski or snowboard and more than 150,000 fifth and sixth graders have continued to hone their skills on the slopes in Utah.

“Skiing and snowboarding is a great way for children and their families to get outside and experience Utah’s mountains,” continued Davis. “Ski Utah is proud to establish and support initiatives like the Passport program that make it easy and affordable for kids to get involved and hopefully become life-long participants in the sports.”

Fifth and sixth graders anywhere in the world can sign up to experience The Greatest Snow on Earth at skiutah.com/passport. Parents looking for a cost-effective way to join their students on the slopes can purchase the Ski Utah Yeti Pass which is good for one day of skiing at each of Utah’s 13 resorts for $649 ($49/day).
