Outdoor Industry Association Endorses Richard Cordray For Governor Of Ohio
Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) has announced its endorsement of Richard Cordray in his bid to be Ohio’s next governor. Richard will be a leader on climate issues, promoting access to Ohio’s public lands and investing in outdoor recreation-related infrastructure.
“We support Richard Cordray to be Ohio’s next governor because he is committed to building and enhancing Ohio’s $24.3 billion outdoor recreation economy and the more than 215,000 jobs it supports by investing in outdoor recreation infrastructure and creating a state office of outdoor recreation to coordinate and promote opportunities within the state,” said Amy Roberts, executive director of OIA. “Ohio deserves a leader like Richard Cordray, who is not afraid to lead on issues, big and small, and we look forward to his leadership in the statehouse.”
“I am happy to accept the endorsement of Outdoor Industry Association,” said Richard Cordray. “Outdoor industries create hundreds of thousands of jobs and help Ohioans to take full advantage of our state’s bountiful natural resources. As governor, I will work to improve Ohio’s outdoor infrastructure, maintain our public lands, and protect our environment to ensure that future generations will continue to enjoy Ohio’s parks, forests, lakes, and streams for decades to come.”
OIA makes formal candidate endorsements after the OIA Board of Directors approves those endorsements.
