New Members Named To Alpine Canada’s Board Of Directors

Alpine Canada is pleased to announce the election of four new members to the Board of Directors. These individuals will contribute to further strengthening ACA as Canada’s governing body for alpine, para-alpine and ski cross. ACA is headed by chairperson Martha Hall Findlay and led by CEO Vania Grandi. Elected to the Board of Directors are Geneviève Cayouette (Quebec), Cheryl Sandercock (Alberta), Tyler Craig (BC/New York)and Garon Meikle (Ontario).

  • Geneviève Cayouette is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in the fields of marketing, customer loyalty and customer experience. For the last decade, she led the development and management of numerous customer loyalty and employee engagement programs for major organizations in Quebec and across Canada. Ski enthusiast and ski mom of two daughters in U12 and U14 competing for the Bromont Ski Club racing team, Geneviève is also actively involved with her Club, for which she led the organization of several community events and related members’ communications for 200 skiers and their family members over the past years. She is also involved with other not-for-profit organizations and volunteers her time with sick kids.
  • Tyler Craig is a seasoned investment banker, who is a Managing Director at BMO Capital Markets (Bank of Montreal), based in New York.  Born and raised in Vernon BC, his parents passed along their passion for skiing to him and his brother Bryce who both competed at an early age.  Tyler was on the Canadian junior and development teams from 1995-1997.  He then pursued studies at the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business on an athletic scholarship, majoring in Finance with minors in Accounting and Economics.  Tyler has been a consistent supporter of ski racing in Canada, supporting several athletes over the years, along with providing career advice to retiring racers on how to transition from an athletic background, to one in the business community. 
  • Garon Meikle is passionate about skiing since he was a child, living in Nova Scotia and skiing and competing for the Wentworth Ski Racing Team up until the mid-nineties. After his skiing years, Garon studied and lived in Nova Scotia to pursue his career in accounting but also became a coach for that same Wentworth Ski Racing Team. After completing his education in Nova Scotia, he moved to Ontario to start his professional career with Deloitte and Touché. After receiving his CPA, CA he started working with PwC in mergers and acquisitions. Then moving on to General Motors working on the controllers staff. For the past several years he has worked at UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust as Controller where they provide healthcare benefits to approximately six hundred sixty five thousand people and manage $60 billion in investments.
  • Cheryl Sandercock is one of ACA’s alumni and was part of the women’s speedskiing (KL)team from 1993 to 1996. Crowned World Champion and with 2 World Cup titles in 1995, Cheryl has been on the Board of directors for the Canadian Sport Institute for several years, and is also an active Alpine Official.  She is an engineering professional with over 25 years of governance experience, and is co-head of Canadian A&D Advisory for BMO Capital Markets.

Alpine Canada wishes to acknowledge those who have retired from the Board of Directors after many years of service, including François-Charles Sirois, Joe Shlesinger and Jim McGovern. All former Directors have made significant contributions to the advancement of Canadian ski racing and the Alpine Canada organization.
