Sunday River Resort Announces 2018 Summer Activities & Events. Resort To Open For Summer On Thursday, June 28, 2018
Sunday River Resort will celebrate its other favorite season in the Mountains of Western Maine with the opening of its L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools on Monday, June 4, followed by the opening of the its Mountain Park on Thursday, June 28, 2018.

Mountain Park and Passes
Based out of the resort's South Ridge Lodge, Sunday River's Mountain Park boasts 20 miles of lift-serviced downhill mountain bike terrain, an 18-hole alpine disc golf course, hiking, zipline tours and twin zips, scenic chairlift rides, a bungee trampoline, and climbing wall.
Now through July 2, guests can take advantage of a summer-long bike park pass for just $99 (all ages). Adventure Passes, which are day passes available to purchase all summer long boast unlimited use of the resort's scenic chairlift, climbing wall, bungee trampoline, and twin ziplines for just $25 (ages 13+) and $22 (ages 6-12).
Open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Thursday-Sunday, through September 2, then Friday-Sunday, September 7 through October 7, Sunday River's Mountain Park is a playground for adventure with something for every age.
L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools
Staring Monday, June 4, Sunday River will partner with L.L.Bean to bring their famed Outdoor Discovery Schools to the resort for a fifth consecutive summer.
Based out of Sunday River's Grand Summit Hotel and Jordan Hotel, L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools will offer $25 Discovery Clinics in archery, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding, as well as a $59 three-hour kayak tour. Summer Events
With a little planning, resort guests can time their trip to Sunday River's Mountain Park or Outdoor Discovery Schools Clinic with one of the many weekend events planned through Columbus Day Weekend.
New! June 30-July 6: Family Nature Summits
Originally organized by the National Wildlife Federation, Family Nature Summit will continue its 40-plus year tradition as a conservation and nature oriented conference to educate attendees at its new destination, Sunday River Resort. Kids will enjoy educational classes and outdoor adventures while the adults take advantage of hikes and classes of interest. There are family-oriented activities in the evening.
July 6-7: River Rock Music Festival
Sunday River will host this annual Christian rock festival with Maine-based The Lighthouse Events. The 2018 River Rock Music Festival lineup boasts such popular bands as MercyMe, JJ Weeks Band, and Sidewalk Prophets. July 20-21: New England Forest Rally
The New England Forest Rally (NEFR) returns to Sunday River as one of six National Championship rallies that take place in the United States. Race legends Travis Pastrana and David Higgins are among racers returning to this year's event, and sure to drive droves of serious race enthusiasts to Sunday River.
July 28: Tough Mountain Challenge
Sunday River's annual Tough Mountain Challenge is back! This year's 3,500 competitions will face more than 20 mountain obstacles and some of the resort's most demanding alpine terrain spread across a 4-mile-long course.
September 14-16: 2nd Annual Maine Brew Fest
Sunday River Resort will host for a second year its Maine Brew Fest September Session September 14-16. The event will feature nearly 100 beers from across the state, including varieties from Allagash, Foundation, Banded Horn, Norway Brewing Company, Mason's Brewing Company, and the Maine Beer Company.
October 6: 18th Annual North American Wife Carrying Championship
Every fall the North American Wife Carrying Championship draws over 2,500 spectators who are anxious to watch teams of 50 husbands and wives from around North America compete for the grand prize of the wife's weight in beer plus five times her weight in cash.
October 7: 5th Annual New England Cornhole Championship
Sunday River will host the 5th annual New England Cornhole Championship, an American Cornhole Association-sanctioned event.
