The 17I18 Alpine World Cup season is over and the Fischer Race Family is already in the middle of preparations for the next season despite the rising temperatures. The Ried-based company is especially delighted to announce a new signing from the Austrian ranks: speed specialist Max Franz will be racing in future with skis, boots and bindings from Fischer.
The 28-year-old racer Max Franz will be part of the Austrian team of the Fischer Race Family from the 18I19 season. The Carinthian is consistently strong above all in the Downhill and Super G disciplines, which he has confirmed with a number of podium finishes and a bronze medal at the World Championships in St. Moritz. He is optimistic about the future collaboration with Fischer: "I'm delighted to be on board with the Fischer Race Family and compete in the 18I19 WSC season together with a new partner. With an Austrian product under my feet and a strong partner such as Vinc Kriechmayr in the team I am confident that I will be able to ski for top places in the upcoming season. The goal is clearly to win a medal at the World Championships in Åre."
Racing Director Siegi Voglreiter is happy about the new contract with the speed specialist: "I'm sure that Max will be a great asset to the Fischer Race Family in the speed events. Together with Vincent Kriechmayr we will have a strong, young team here from the Austrian ranks in the future whose respective qualities go extremely well together and can drive each other to top performances. Additionally we will get important feedback from the two of them for the development of our products – and this will”
The Fischer Race Family is also growing in the strong nation of Switzerland: with Patrick Küng and Thomas Tumler the Austrian family-owned company has been joined by two more promising athletes. For Küng, an experienced racer who won the Downhill World Championship in 2015, equipment is a critical factor in having a successful start in the 18I19 World Championship season: "After what was a difficult season for me I am pleased to have a new partner by my side for the new one. I am looking forward to the new challenge and will go into the new season full of motivation and energy."
Thomas Tumler is another athlete with huge potential who has changed to the Fischer Race Family. With Fischer I have found exactly what I was looking for and I am proud that I will be competing in future races with a team that has a family spirit like the Fischer Race Family."
"We are delighted that we have been able to grow our speed team so dynamically with racers from a strong nation like Switzerland," says Racing Director Siegi Voglreiter. "With the experienced Patrick Küng and up-and-coming Thomas Tumler we will definitely be a force to be reckoned with in the future.
