FIS World Broadcasters Meeting Staged In Are

Direct on the heels of the successful Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals, the Organising Committee of the 2019 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Åre (SWE), together with media rights holder Infront, hosted the World Broadcasters Meeting on Monday, 19th March 2018.

With the fresh and positive experiences from the Finals, the meeting focused on fine tuning which is needed during the next eleven months for the media to show the world the top Alpine athletes in action.

Around 50 representatives of the global broadcasting family, together with host broadcaster SVT and Infront Sports & Media, the Åre 2019 Organising Committee and FIS were present for an intensive day of meetings complete with a tour of the facilities and locations of different activities for the upcoming World Championships.

“The work of the Broadcasters is crucial for transmitting the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships and the sport throughout the world and this preparation meeting is a critical step on the way. Ensuring that all possible measures are in place to enable them to carry out their work is very important so their images and reporting leads to communicating a positive global image of Alpine Skiing“, said FIS Secretary General Sarah Lewis.
