Gore Mountain Expands Summer Schedule & Activity Lineup!
Gore Mountain opened on Saturday, July 7 with a variety of new activities and fun events. A more extensive warm-weather schedule invites guests to explore the mountain 10am-5pm Thursday-Sunday through September 2, and fall weekends through October 7.
Free interpretive walks led by Gore staff and special guest speakers will depart the top of the Northwoods Gondola twice daily, featuring information about the surrounding vistas, area history, and local vegetation and wildlife. New 4X4 Alpine Expeditions held four times a day welcome up to five guests per tour for a behind-the-scenes look at less-explored areas of Gore. A new vertical adventure element in the Base Area offers climbers fresh opportunities for finding some air. The revised hiking map now offers more routes for recreation than ever before, including the new "Twister Cliffs" hike that provides stunning views from the glacial erratics of Burnt Ridge Mountain.
These new amenities join other summer activities at Gore including scenic gondola skyrides, multiple hiking trails, intermediate and advanced downhill mountain biking, climbing wall, bungee trampoline, disc and mini golf, and inflatables. On the sundeck, lunch and snacks are available at the Open Pit Grille.
Visit Gore Mountain's events calendar for information about Mountain Bike Skills Camps on July 14, August 11, and September 15; Mountaintop Yoga Classes on July 28 and August 25; the Monster Mountain 10K on August 4, and Harvest Fest on October 6-7. More events and classes including candlemaking and a Red Cross blood drive are also planned.
Gore has expanded its summer/fall operating schedule by over 80% compared to 2017, and is eager to continue growing its four-season appeal. Several wedding ceremonies, group outings, and summer camp excursions are reserved for 2018 and 2019.
