Windham Mountain Resort Appoints Topher Harlow As Alpine Race Director
Windham Mountain Resort, sponsor of U.S. Ski Team Member Tommy Biesmeyer, is pleased to announce the appointment of Topher Harlow as Head Alpine Race Program Director of the Windham Race Factory. The Resort’s rich history of developing and supporting ski racers in New York State dates back to the 1960’s. Harlow's professional experience and knowledge of ski racing will lead Windham’s program into the next phase of the pursuit of excellence in alpine racing.
In his new role, Harlow will focus on modernizing the development program, ensuring Windham maintains its valued leadership position as one of the preeminent race programs in the East. Windham Mountain Resort President and General Manager Chip Seamans, is thrilled about the experience and energy that Harlow will bring to his new position. “Appointing Topher is key to our investment in the athletes in our Race Program”, he says, “We take immense pride in the development of racers and we are excited about taking the program to a new level.” Franz Krickl, Director of Snowsports School adds, “The addition of Topher Harlow to our team is consistent with our strategic plan to put purpose into everything we do and show strength in what we do well. We placed significant importance on character and leadership in our search for the right person to lead our community in this next phase of development. We are confident that Topher’s skill set and experience will be the perfect fit.”
Most recently serving as the head women’s U16 and FIS coach, Harlow has been on the Mount Mansfield Ski Club leadership team in Stowe, VT for nine years. Growing up in Mount Washington Valley, Harlow attended Plymouth State University, where he was a 7-time USCSA All-American and Alpine Ski Team Captain. As head ski coach of his alma mater, Harlow led the men's team to win the Eastern Regional combined Alpine championship, while the men's and women's alpine teams both finished fourth overall at the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association national championships. He has worked extensively with junior racers and FIS level athletes throughout his time at MMSC. In 2014, Harlow was named the Vermont Development Coach of the Year. Topher Harlow, who assumes his new position on October 1, 2018, says “I’m excited to bring my coaching experience to the Catskills, to empower young racers, and to facilitate the evolution of the renowned programming of the Windham Race Factory at Windham Mountain Resort.”
Windham Mountain Resort is a year-round destination in the Great Northern Catskills of Greene County, NY, about two and a half hours north of New York City.
