Ingvild Flugstad Ostberg And Jarl Magnus Riiber Strengthen Fischer Race Family

Jarl Magnus Riiber (NOR) has decided in favour of Fischer and will be competing for points and medals from now on with skis, bindings and boots from the Nordic number one. The contract was signed at the highly appropriate location of the ski production facility at Fischer's Headquarters in Ried im Innkreis (AUT).

"Last season didn't go to plan. Two fourth places at the Olympics and no victory in the individual races in the World Cup – this did not meet my expectations," explained the young, confident Norwegian. "I knew that something would have to change."

The Nordic Combined specialist, who at the age of 20 is one of the youngest in the World Cup field, demands top performance not only from himself but also from his equipment. "I simply always try to push everything to the limit – whether it is me personally or my equipment. With the experience Fischer has and the service offered to me here I am confident that I can improve significantly in terms of equipment technology and will then have better chances as a result, too, if I work hard on myself," says the junior world champion, explaining the reasons why he changed. "I tested quite a lot earlier in the year and I simply have the best feeling with the complete setup from Fischer."

The big goal for the upcoming season will of course be his first World Championships in Seefeld (AUT). "At the Olympics last winter I finished fourth twice in the individual competitions and came second with the team. I aim to change that in the upcoming winter." His sights will be firmly set on winning his first WCH medal – a gold one if possible. And his shoulder, which at times even thwarted his plans on the final straight, no longer poses a problem: "The shoulder injury has cleared up completely. I sometimes find myself having to think which shoulder it actually was that caused me the problems."

Jarl Magnus Riiber was on the podium in six of the last eight individual races last season. He would now like to carry on where he left off with new equipment and with the aim of making it to the top of the podium. "I'm delighted to have become a member of the Fischer Race Family. It gives me a good feeling to be able to build on the support of such an experienced team," says the likeable Norwegian with a positive outlook and fully motivated.

There had been rumours in sporting circles for some time and now there is official confirmation: Ingvild Flugstad Østberg (NOR) has taken her decision and will place her trust in skis, bindings and boots from Fischer from now on.

The likeable Norwegian tested equipment extensively and intensively early in the year. "The Fischer setup was simply perfect for me from the first time I tested it. It's hard to describe, but sometimes you just get the feeling for what is right or wrong," says the winner of the Olympic Relay in PyeongChang, convinced about her new equipment. She continues: "I also have a very good relationship with the service team at Fischer and felt that they really wanted me to join the Fischer race family. I like the professionalism at Fischer and also have the feeling that we share the same values. It is important that both sides always want to improve and ultimately be the best."

The 27-year-old will be competing in the upcoming WCH winter with the complete Fischer package: Speedmax skis and boots, plus TURNAMIC® bindings, and she is full of enthusiasm: "What I like best about the skis is that they are playful. I can do "whatever" I want with them and they feel smooth and fast on the snow. The boots fit me perfectly. They give me the support I need and also the right stiffness for the best push/kick."

The big goal for the season will of course be the World Championships in Seefeld (AUT). "I want to feel strong and race really fast there. Winning an individual medal and also a medal with the team are my biggest dreams." Her sights are naturally also set on the big crystal globe: "My goal is to be a better skier year by year, which means that all World Cup races are very important to me as well."

It is certainly a benefit when there are a number of other teammates in the strong Norwegian team who place their trust in the same brand – this makes choosing the right skis in races a lot easier. "There is work to do as I have to get to know both the skis and the boots well and build up a whole new ski fleet," says the Team Sprint World Champion of Falun (SWE), feeling motivated about the future. "But our service team already has a wealth of experience with Fischer skis and the company's own service team supports me a lot."

People at the Fischer headquarters are likewise delighted about the new member of the Fischer race family, as Gerhard Urain, Nordic Racing Director at Fischer, confirms: "We are pleased that Ingvild has chosen us. She is very strong in both the sprint and longer distances and is perfect for our team. We are confident that this partnership will be successful for both sides and are looking forward to it very much."
