Zimtstern AG To Progressively Scale Back Its Business Operations
The Swiss company Zimtstern AG is to progressively scale back its business operations in the course of this year and will be closing them down in good order. At the same time, various options as to whether and how the Bike Wear division can successfully be continued are currently being assessed. The coming season’s bike wear will be delivered as planned in the spring of 2018 and will be available from Zimtstern dealers.
Zimtstern can look back on an illustrious and exciting history that began over twenty years ago with snowboard apparel made in Switzerland. Year in and year out since 1995, it has presented unique collections produced for its customers and supporters with a great deal of passion.
In recent years, however, it has had to realise that the challenging market situation means that its business can no longer be profitable over the long term. Despite many efforts at cutting costs in recent years, making a pro t has become increasingly difficult, even in the core business of ski and snowboard wear. The generally declining importance of winter sports on the domestic market, and of snowboarding in particular, the strength of the Swiss franc and changed consumer behaviour have prompted the strategic decision to abandon the development and marketing of new collections.
The eleven members of staff and the specialist dealers were informed of the decision in the late autumn of 2017. The Zimtstern stores in Lenzerheide, Flims-Dorf, Zurich-Altstetten and Suhr will remain open until spring of 2018. Their precise opening times may be found on the website at www.zimtstern.com.
