Smith Launches New Mission And Mirage Snow Helmets For Winter 2018/19

Reliable and refined, the new Mission and Mirage helmets from Smith offer on-snow protection through enhanced safety materials and classic designs for roaming the resorts all season long.

Comprised of proven lightweight in-mold Aerocore construction, featuring Koroyd technology, both helmets utilise zonal ventilated protection in targeted impact areas to offer safeguarded coverage where and when it matters most. The unique crumple-zone cylinders crush uniformly on impact to provide superior energy absorption, design flexibility and ventilation when compared to materials traditionally used in helmet construction.

Each model includes an adjustable dial fit system, Snapfit SL ear pads, and is compatible with Outdoor Tech audio systems (sold separately). The women’s specific Mirage helmet also includes a cozy long-fleece liner for added warmth.

With the addition of AirEvac2 ventilation for superior goggle integration, each helmet also includes 14 vents with adjustable ventilation for climate control, providing a complete airflow solution for all day on the mountain.

Smith helmets are created to efficiently absorb direct impacts, and most colourways of the Mission and all colourways of the Mirage are available with an optional multi-directional impact protection system (MIPS) lining that reduces rotational forces that the brain is exposed to during oblique impacts to the head. When combined with MIPS, the helmet liner is separated from the head by a low-friction slip plane that allows the head to slide during impact and may reduce instances of traumatic brain injuries.

The Mission and Mirage fully integrate with Smith goggles for a seamless fit that promotes performance and innovation.
