Ski Mojo Features On TV Documentary Inventing The Impossible: The Big Life Fix - Helps Severely Disabled Man To Snowboard Again

Snowboarder, Graham Naylor, was featured on the recent BBC documentary, Inventing the Impossible: The Big Life Fix, shown on July 26, 2018 – the program focuses on a team of inventors who aim to improve the lives of inspiring people with different problems.

Forty-year-old Graham was caught and buried in an avalanche which resulted in severe brain trauma, leaving him paralysed and unable to walk, but determined to once again snowboard on a mountain. Award-winning engineer Yusuf Muhammed was tasked with designing a way to make Graham’s dream come true.

Following several attempts at creating a snowboard suitable for Graham’s needs, Yusuf discovered the ski~mojo and integrated that into his design, ultimately providing the essential element needed to make the goal successful.

The device was tested at The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead and the indoor London slope, Chel-Ski before Graham travelled to the resort of Ischgl in the Austrian Alps in his attempt to once again take to the slopes.

Yusuf Muhammed said: “Whilst looking for a solution to take some of the weight off Graham's legs, we stumbled across ski~mojo. It was really helpful as it helped stabilise and support his body position without restricting his movements. It really complemented the custom upright snowboard I designed”.

Managing Director of ski~mojo, Martin Hannaford, said: “We were delighted to see ski~mojo being used by the team on The Big Life Fix and it was wonderful to see how it helped Graham snowboard once again. We know ski~mojo can help all kinds of skiers and snowboarders of all abilities with issues ranging from mild knee pain to those with severe disabilities like Graham’s. Thousands of skiers and snowboarders are using ski~mojo on the slopes every winter, staying on the slopes longer than they otherwise could; but you are probably not aware of them as the ski~mojo is worn “invisibly” under their ski wear”.
