Mountain Hub Launches Interactive Tracking Playback In 3D Flyover
Mountain Hub, a community-fueled information-sharing platform for the outdoors, elevates outdoor adventure tracking and sharing with its new 3D Flyover feature. 3D Flyover allows users to interact with their own and other’s outings in the richest tracking playback experience available today.
Utilizing satellite GPS, 3D Flyover generates a detailed, interactive virtual tour of the path traveled by any Mountain Hub user, anywhere in the world. During playback, users can rotate the view 360 degrees to examine terrain from any angle. Users can also zoom in/out, pause, adjust the speed and jump to specific points in the track, enabling members to share their adventures in a manner unique to Mountain Hub.

“Never before has there been a fully interactive playback option with this level of detail,” says Jim Christian, chief product officer and co-founder of Mountain Hub. “Whether they’re logging mountain biking, trail running, backpacking or other activities, it's an entirely unique way for people to share their adventures and discover new opportunities in the outdoors.”
Two-time world extreme skiing champion, Chris Davenport, was among the beta testers for 3D Flyover, which Mountain Hub created in partnership with Doarama, an innovative software-mapping company.
“Life happens in 3D; so should your app,” says Davenport. “In addition to its shareability on social media, Mountain Hub 3D Flyover provides me with an accurate visual of specific terrain, which is an invaluable tool for mountain preparation and trip planning. This new tool has the ability to change how outdoor educators and backcountry users visualize terrain choices.”
