15 years Of Fieberbrunn's "Timok's Wild World" Amusement Park Celebrated With Expansion

A successful project by Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn is celebrating its anniversary: "Timok's Wild World" is 15 years old. To mark the anniversary, the family and leisure park is now being expanded to include "Timok's Discovery Checker Path". As with other attractions in "Timok's Wilder Welt", the path is intended to offer children a scientific connection to nature in a playful way. The project is supported by the Tyrolean state museums as well as by the federal, state and European Union.

Since the park was founded in 2008, Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn has steadily expanded the range of services at the Streuboden middle station in Fieberbrunn. In 2010, for example, the Alpine Coaster was born, in 2018 the Streuboden reservoir including a panoramic circular path was created, and in 2019 the water features were installed. Since 2017, the Tyrolean state museums have also been on board and, with their scientific input, create incentives to playfully inspire young and old for fauna and flora.

"Timok's Explorer Checker Path": Fauna and flora to marvel at, discover and play

In 2023, for the anniversary, there will be something new again in cooperation with the Tyrolean State Museums: the games and educational trail "Timok's Discovery Checker Trail". On the path that runs between the middle station and the Wildalpgatterl mountain inn, oversized animal and plant species can be discovered at six different stations. Here you can marvel, discover, play and climb as you please. Instructive information and questions that can be answered in the new children's puzzle pass await at each station. Anyone who has cracked all the puzzles and found the right solution will receive a small reward at the cable car cash desk. The scientific inputs for the project again come from the home of the Tyrolean State Museums: "Our cooperation has also resulted in Timok's positioning as a researcher, scientist and discoverer over the years and this should be further expanded and deepened in the future", explains Sebastian Schwaiger, Managing Director of Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn.

"Museum goes Wild", which was developed in 2017 together with the Tyrolean State Museums and was previously stationed on the Lärchfilzkogel in the direction of the Wildalmen, will have a new location in 2023. It will now fascinate children and adults alike in Timok's wild world around the Streuboden reservoir and impart knowledge about the local flora, fauna and geology with the specially developed app.

An added value for mountain railways and tourism

And the figures also show that the concept of "Timok's Wild World" is working. Since its inception 15 years ago, the family and leisure park has seen the number of summer trips on the mountain railways increase fourfold. The park welcomes around 100,000 guests every year and thus stimulates the summer operation of the mountain railways and the tourist offer in the PillerseeTal: "The summer is of increasing importance for the mountain railways and the experience staging on the mountain, in order to establish a successful year-round operation," knows Schwaiger.

Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn as one of the "Best Austrian Summer Railways"

Not least for this reason, the Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn are also a member of the "Best Austrian Summer Railways". The seal of quality has been guaranteeing a high-quality summer offer on the mountain for years. For certification, every cable car company must meet a comprehensive catalog of quality criteria and assign itself to a special repertoire of experiences. The seal of quality can only be awarded by the Association of Austrian Cable Cars and is subject to ongoing quality controls. The offer in Fieberbrunn was awarded the specialization “Family Mountain”.
